August 2022 Update
Well, it’s been quite a summer! I had a wonderful time working with the Oakville Symphony to prepare and present a pair of outstanding concerts last month. Conducting Brahms 4 has always been a dream of mine and I’m so happy to have a first (and second) performance of it under my belt. Congratulations to Lorenzo Guggenheim, who has been selected as the Oakville Symphony’s new music director.
I am also thrilled to announce that I have accepted a one-year contract to conduct the Wind Symphony at the University of Toronto's Faculty of Music next year. I absolutely love working with musicians at this level and have planned an awesome slate of repertoire that I can't wait to start working on. I'm very grateful to Gillian and Jeff and U of T for the opportunity!
In the meantime, Rouge River Winds will close out the summer next week with the latest in a longstanding series of movie music concerts. Summer Soundtracks III will feature music by Ludwig Goransson, James Horner, and (of course) John Williams.
